Athletics
Welcome and thank you for your interest in John Paul II athletics!
At John Paul II we value the important role that athletics plays in contributing to a Catholic, college-preparatory education as an intricate part of the Golden Warrior mission to maximize the potential of all student athletes. As a member of the South Carolina Independent School Association (SCISA), John Paul II offers 18 varsity sports and 30 other teams across three seasons. We welcome all students to participate in our interscholastic sports programs. Sports are an excellent way to grow physically, emotionally, and socially as an individual. As a former high school and collegiate athlete, I know athletics played a major role in helping prepare me for college and, more importantly, real-world challenges. Because of sports, the lessons of my coaches, trainers, and teammates assisted me in developing skills in time management, problem solving, delegation, motivation, and team building.
It is our mission as an athletic department to provide each student at John Paul II with multiple opportunities for athletic participation and we encourage students to participate in multiple sports whenever possible. Through this, we hope to provide to all of our student-athletes a wholesome and well-rounded experience that will aid in their lifetime character development. We expect our student-athletes, coaches, and parents involved to be responsible in all interactions and to win with humility, lose graciously, and, more importantly, to be great ambassadors of our school.
