John Paul II Catholic School is proud to announce that two of its senior football players, Sebastian Slusne and Lukas Yackley, have been named to WSAV’s 2025 Next Level Athletes team.

The recognition honors standout high school football players in the Lowcountry and Coastal Empire who demonstrate exceptional performance on the field, strong leadership, and the potential to compete at the collegiate level. Selected by the WSAV sports team, this distinction shines a spotlight on athletes whose dedication and skill have elevated their teams and inspired their communities.

Sebastian Slusne and Lukas Yackley are both dominant defensive linemen for the JPII Golden Warriors. Known for their relentless work ethic, sportsmanship, and explosive play, the duo consistently challenged opposing offenses and set the tone for the JPII defense.

"We're thrilled to see Sebastian and Lukas recognized for their hard work and commitment," said JPII head football coach Shayne Milligan. "They’ve been leaders for our team both on and off the field, and this honor is well-deserved."

The Next Level Athletes team will be featured by WSAV throughout the spring as part of its continuing coverage of high school sports excellence in the region.
