The John Paul II theater program is rolling back the clock to the rockin’ ‘50s with its spring musical extravaganza, Bye Bye Birdie! This high-energy production is bursting with poodle skirts, swoon-worthy tunes, slicked-back hair, rebellious teens, exasperated parents, and a certain hip-swinging heartthrob who’s causing a whole lot of commotion in Sweet Apple, Ohio! Shows are Friday, March 28 at 7pm and Saturday, March 29 at 1pm and 7pm.
“With a fantastic cast of 33 performers and 15+ behind-the-scenes masterminds, this production promises big laughs, even bigger dance numbers, and enough teenage drama,” said JPII drama teacher, Emily Brown. “Our dedicated students have been pouring their hearts (and a whole lot of sweat) into this show, working tirelessly to bring the magic to life.”
Will Conrad Birdie’s departure send the town into a frenzy? Will Albert ever stand up to his overbearing mother? Will Kim MacAfee survive her 15 minutes of fame? There’s only one way to find out—get your tickets, grab your bobby socks, and come rock out with us for a night of music, mischief, and mid-century mayhem!
You won’t want to miss this rockin’ good time—so put on a happy face and join us for Bye Bye Birdie at JPII!
