Strength in Faith: JPII Students Lead by Example

At a school assembly marking the conclusion of Catholic Schools Week, senior members of the JPII ACTS 29 team, along with junior Andrew Boyden, boldly and joyfully bore witness to their Christian faith. This public testimony is a powerful affirmation of our school's mission, fostering a vibrant and supportive faith community that strengthens and celebrates our Catholic identity. Their courageous witness serves as a beacon of hope, reminding all students that Christ is alive and working in their hearts.

"In sharing their faith, these students exemplify the call to discipleship, inspiring their peers to embrace the question, "Christ, Yes or No?" with unwavering conviction," said JPII Campus Ministry Joseph Rivera. "At JPII, our students are resoundingly answering Yes!—yes to Christ’s love, yes to His truth, and yes to living out their faith with courage and joy."

Several students, including Savannah Trott, Caylin Grecy, and Andrew Boyden, stepped forward to share their personal journeys of faith.

Savannah, speaking at the conclusion of Mass, touched hearts as she reflected on how her faith has been her foundation, giving her strength through life’s challenges. Accompanied by cherished childhood photos, her testimony illustrated the beauty of a faith that has grown and flourished over the years.

Caylin shared how prayer has been her anchor, keeping her focused on God’s will both on and off the volleyball court. Through intentional prayer before games and practices, she has learned to trust in His plan and lean on Him in all circumstances.

Andrew, responding to the Holy Spirit’s call, shared his journey of stepping out in faith to establish the Men’s Bible Study Group. What began as an act of courage has blossomed into a brotherhood, uniting young men in Christ and deepening their understanding of Scripture. Together, they have forged a bond that is rooted in faith, strengthening each other in their walk with God.

"These testimonies reflect the heart of our mission at JPII—to form young men and women who not only know their faith but live it boldly," remarked Tracy Sklarin, JPII math teacher and Sebastian House dean. "Through their words and actions, these students are answering God’s call to be the light of the world, shining brightly as witnesses of Christ’s love."
