Sleigh Bells, Soggy Sneakers, Shopping, Santa, & SO MUCH FUN!

A Very Merry Ugly Sweater 5K for the Books!

From jingling hats to muddy sneakers, the Very Merry Ugly Sweater 5K Run & Walk turned a rainy Saturday into a joyful winter wonderland!
Christmas spirit was everywhere — in every laugh, every splash through a puddle, and every smiling runner crossing the finish line in their ugliest, jolliest sweaters. Rain couldn’t stop us… it only made the memories even better!

Rain, mud, puddles, and messy trails couldn’t slow down our Very Merry Ugly Sweater 5K Run & Walk — and you all showed up ready to play, compete, and celebrate! Every runner who bundled up and braved the weather did so with smiles, grit, and tons of Christmas cheer. “I am incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make this day such a success — our amazing volunteers who cheerfully stepped into every role, our wonderful vendors, the JPII administration and staff for their support and hard work, and of course every runner who showed up with such joyful determination. You truly made this a Very Merry day,” said PTO President, Miranda Shipman. "THANK YOU to everyone who came out, supported the JPII PTO, and filled our campus with joy. You turned a rainy morning into one we’ll never forget. Fun was truly had by all!"

🎅 Santa himself brought the joy, cheered on the crowd, and spread Christmas magic throughout the morning — a HUGE thank you for the laughs, photos, and holiday spirit!

👏 Congratulations to every finisher! From seasoned athletes to first-timers, your enthusiasm was contagious. You proved that soggy sneakers and muddy trails only make the memories sweeter!

🛍️ Our Very Merry vendors moved indoors and made Christmas shopping a breeze — and the puppies stole the show with tail wags, snuggles, and smiles all around.

"I loved seeing all the kids smiling and laughing," commented Mrs. Shipman. "The families running together was one of my favorite things to see. I think it was a great day of bringing our school community together."
