The John Paul II middle school Wrestling team competed at the SCISA Middle School Championships at Ben Lippen and had an outstanding performance.
Four of the six wrestlers who competed in the tourney placed in the top three at their weight class and earned medals. Jack Duncan and Nick Kessinger brought home championship medals.
- Duncan was 4-0 on the day with 2 pins, a technical fall, and a major decision.
- Kessinger was 5-0 with 4 pins and a major decision.
- Finishing as runner-up at his weight class was Isaac Borgan, who went 3-1 on the day with 2 pins and a forfeit.
- James Del Mazo finished 3rd with a 3-2 record and 3 pins.
- Brody Farris went 2-3 with 2 pins, just missing out on placing in the top 3.
- Walker Benson also competed and wrestled hard all day in a tough weight class.
"We are proud of the boys for their hard work this season," said Coach Greg Lonz. "They all did a great job and we look forward to what lies ahead for next year on the mats!"
