JPII Volleyball Warriors Finish Strong in SCISA State Championship

What an incredible run for our JPII volleyball team at the 2024 SCISA State Tournament!

Day 1: The Warriors started with a commanding 2-0 victory over First Baptist, setting the tone for the day. Their next matchup was a showdown against powerhouse Ben Lippen, where, despite dropping the first set, our Warriors rallied back to win 2-1! Facing off against Porter Gaud next, the girls fought hard but ultimately fell to the Cyclones 0-2.

Day 2: Our Warriors faced cross-town rivals Hilton Head Christian in a high-stakes, loser-go-home match. Rising to the challenge, they played some of their best volleyball yet, sweeping the Eagles 25-14, 25-14 and advancing to the final four. Their final match was against #1 ranked Cardinal Newman, and while our Warriors fought fiercely, the Cardinals took the win 2-0.

"Our season wrapped up with a third-place finish among 17 teams in 4A and our first-ever Region Championship," Coach Louise Sanders shared her pride in the team’s effort, saying, "These girls gave it everything this season, and to finish among the top in the state is a testament to their hard work and resilience. I couldn’t be prouder of the grit, heart, and skill these Warriors showed on the court, wrapping up an unforgettable season with a third-place finish in 4A—a remarkable achievement in our first year at this level!"
