JPII Tennis Players Score Big with Women's Tennis Organization Scholarships

Game, set, match! John Paul II Catholic School is thrilled to announce that four of our student-athletes have been awarded Women's Tennis Organization (WTO) Memorial Scholarships—a competitive honor that helps junior players advance their game both on and off the court.

Congratulations to: Lainey Low (7th grade), Nathan Lyle (8th grade), Angelo Iskandar (10th grade), and KP Santos (10th grade)

Established in 2006 by a passionate group of tennis enthusiasts in Sun City, the WTO Memorial Scholarship awards up to $500 annually to deserving student-athletes in grades 7–11 who play on a varsity tennis team, maintain at least a B average, and demonstrate a commitment to improving their game. Recipients from schools across the Lowcountry—including JPII, May River, Bluffton High, and Christian Academy—are selected for their promise, dedication, and love of the sport.

The funds can be used for tournament entry fees, new racquets, private lessons, tennis camps, or other training tools to sharpen their skills and boost their performance on the court.

JPII tennis coach and math teacher Tracy Sklarin couldn’t be prouder of her players. “These students show such heart and hustle every time they step on the court,” said Mrs. Sklarin. “This scholarship gives them the chance to keep developing their game, and I know they’ll make the most of every opportunity. I’m so proud of how far they’ve come and can’t wait to see where their hard work takes them next!”

Special thanks to WTO Chair Angela Wolfe and the entire Women's Tennis Organization for continuing to serve up opportunity for young players across the Lowcountry.

With racquets ready and hearts full of gratitude, our Golden Warriors are just getting started!
