JPII varsity swimming participated in its first swim meet of the season on Saturday, August 24 sponsored by HHCA at the Hilton Head Island Rec Center.

"Our team had fantastic results, with seven swimmers getting state-cut qualifying times right out of the gate," said head coach, Kristen Winslow. "These Warrior showed up and swam with amazing strength and power. Our team parents brought their enthusiasm and strong support!"

HHCA Invitational Results:

JPII Golden Warriors - Boys Team

• Beau Ryan swam a 29.39 in his 50 Freestyle and a 1:08.60 in his 100 Freestyle. **State Qualifier**
• Brinson Brosman finished in the top 5 for the 100 Backstroke at 1:15.83 and swam a 28.86 in his 50 Freestyle. **State Qualifier**
• Rugby Daniel placed in the top 18 in his 100 Backstroke at 1:55.73, and his 50 Freestyle finished with a 35.67.

JPII Warriors - Girls Team

• Cyprus Daniel finished in the top 3 for the 50 Freestyle (28.08) and in the top 10 for her 100 Breaststroke (1:25.88). **State Qualifier**
• Riley McGoldrick finished 2nd place for her 100 Butterfly 1:14.49 and the top 10 for her 200 Freestyle 2:27.25. **State Qualifier**
• Anson Daniel finished in the top 3 for the 100 Backstroke at 1:20.76 and swam a 1:29.58 in the 100 Breaststroke. **State Qualifier**
• Delilah Waite-Kerns finished in the top 10 for the 100 Freestyle at 1:09.87 and swam a 1:35.86 in the 100 Breaststroke. **State Qualifier**
• Nel Winslow finished in the top 10 for the 100 Freestyle at 1:11.07 and swam a 1:32.31 in the 100 Breaststroke. **State Qualifier**
• Sofie Hannagan finished in the top 10 for the 50 Freestyle at 32.05 and swam 1:38.23 in the 100 Breaststroke. **State Qualifier**
• Mary Elizabeth Slivka swam 44.42 in her 50 Freestyle and placed 37 out of 46 qualified swimmers!

Girls Relay Teams

• 200 Medley Relay - Daniel, C, Daniel, A, McGoldrick, Winslow - Placed 3rd overall at 2:16.70 with only seconds away from first place!
• 200 Freestyle Relay - Daniel, C, Slivka, Waite-Kerns, Daniel, A - Placed in the top 5 at 2:11.16.400 Freestyle Relay - McGoldrick, Hannagan, Waite-Kerns, Winslow - Placed 2nd overall at 4:46.98.
