JPII Homecoming Week: A Celebration of Spirit, Creativity, and Warrior Pride!

What a week to be a Golden Warrior! Homecoming 2025 was one for the books—days of laughter, creativity, and school spirit that perfectly captured what it means to be part of the JPII family.

Holiday Mash-Up Day kicked things off with a burst of festive cheer as students and faculty decked the halls in their best holiday attire. The joy was contagious, setting the tone for an unforgettable week ahead.

Adam Sandler Day brought Hollywood to the Lowcountry as students and faculty dressed as the comedian’s many beloved characters—from Happy Gilmore and Billy Madison to Bobby Boucher. The laid-back, laughter-filled energy made for one of the most entertaining days of the week.

Midweek brought Anything BUT a Backpack Day, and our Golden Warriors did not disappoint! Instead of backpacks, the hallways were filled with everything from coolers and laundry baskets to golf bags, strollers, and even trashcans. The creativity and humor were off the charts, and the smiles never stopped.

Next up was Reverse Day, where students dressed as teachers and teachers dressed as students. The result? Pure fun! Gym teachers were fan favorites, and our faculty rocked their best “sloppy chic” looks as everyone enjoyed a lighthearted role reversal that had the whole building laughing.

As the week built toward Friday, Warrior Day painted the school in Blue & Gold pride. From head-to-toe navy and gold, students, faculty, and staff showed up united, ready to cheer on the Warriors at the big game.

The Homecoming Pep Rally was a high-energy celebration of everything JPII—complete with the introduction of the 2025 Homecoming Court and the debut of our brand-new mascot, Maximus, the greatest Warrior of them all! The crowd roared as each class cheered on their representatives: 9th Grade: Cia Douglass & Micah Cano, 10th Grade: Domonique Jones & William Clark, 11th Grade: Lily Kate Garrick & KP Santos, 12th Grade: Lili Termini & Andrew Boyden, Evelyn Melnick & Merrick Baroni, Rachel Brenneman & Topper Burgin.

Finally, Friday night capped off the week with an unforgettable Homecoming Game and Celebration. Under the lights, our Golden Warriors dominated the field with an exciting 42–10 victory over First Baptist! The crowd’s energy was electric as the cheerleaders delivered a show-stopping halftime performance, and the highlight of the night came when Merrick Baroni and Evelyn Melnick were crowned Homecoming King and Queen.

“This week was an incredible reminder of the joy and unity that define our JPII community,” said President David Lima. “From the creativity of the students and faculty to the excitement under the Friday night lights, our community continue to show what it means to live out our SHIELD values—with energy, pride, and faith.”

Assistant Principal Tabatha Reeves agreed, adding, “Homecoming Week is such a special tradition because it brings every part of our school together—middle schoolers, high schoolers, faculty, and families—all celebrating what it means to be a Golden Warrior. You could feel the spirit in every hallway and on every face.”

From start to finish, Homecoming Week was a shining example of the Warrior Way—joyful, spirited, and united in faith and pride. Here’s to our Golden Warriors—on and off the field, you continue to make JPII proud!
