JPII Cross Country Team Shines at SCISA State Championships, Middle School at Regions

This past Saturday, our JPII varsity cross country teams showed grit and determination as they competed at the SCISA State Championships.

The boys team clinched the RUNNER-UP title with an impressive score of 72! Senior Sebastian Frickel blazed through the course, finishing 5th with a remarkable time of 16:26, while Blake Hubik sprinted in just seconds behind, placing 7th at 16:30. Both Sebastian and Blake earned well-deserved spots on the All-State team. Our boys top five runners all clocked in under 17:40, showcasing a season of hard work, perseverance, and record-breaking paces!"

On the girls side, the team finished strong with a 7th place overall and a score of 170. "Freshman Ayla Reynolds ran a phenomenal race, securing 8th place with a time of 19:14 and claiming her place on the All-State team!"

Reflecting on their first year competing in the 4A division, Coach Jaime Roberts expressed pride in the dedication and progress of the team. “They’ve shown they can compete with the best and have only just begun,” she said.

As we celebrate this incredible season, we also bid a fond farewell to our two seniors, Trice McClure and James Hook, whose leadership and spirit will be greatly missed on the course.

Congratulations, Golden Warriors!
