JPII Celebrates Moms with First-Ever Mother’s Day Tea Party

What better way to celebrate the extraordinary women in our lives than with a morning filled with laughter, sunshine, and tea? The JPII PTO was thrilled to host its first-ever Mother’s Day Tea Party on Friday, May 2—a beautiful and heartfelt tribute to the mothers, grandmothers, and mother figures who nurture, guide, and inspire our community each and every day.

Set against a backdrop of blue skies and spring sunshine (with surprisingly few bugs—“a huge blessing,” noted many attendees), the middle lawn in front of the gym was transformed into a charming garden party. Under umbrella-covered tables adorned with fresh flowers and lovely linens, nearly 75 guests gathered to enjoy fellowship and light fare. The morning’s menu included delicious egg bites, a tempting variety of pastries, and, of course, coffee and tea.

PTO President Miranda Shipman shared, “What a wonderful way to celebrate the amazing mothers in our lives. Their unconditional love, emotional support, and ability to guide and inspire is something that truly deserves to be honored.”

She added, “The best part of the morning was seeing so many smiling faces, parents spending meaningful time with their children, and friends enjoying each other’s company. These are the moments we’ll always cherish.”

Special thanks go to Amanda Spencer, Fellowship Committee Chair, and her incredible team who brought this vision to life with thoughtfulness and attention to every detail. From the elegant table settings to the welcoming atmosphere, their hard work created a warm and memorable celebration that has certainly set the bar high for future events.

The PTO extends heartfelt gratitude to all who attended and supported the tea party. We’re already looking forward to making it an annual tradition!
