A Beautiful Day at Old Tabby Links for JPII’s Annual Golf Tournament

With blue skies overhead and Old Tabby Links in pristine condition, nearly 100 players came together for a memorable day of golf in support of John Paul II Catholic School. The private course, located on the beautiful Spring Island, provided a unique and special experience for our players, many of whom were excited to take advantage of the rare opportunity to play there.

The tournament began with a 9am registration handled by dedicated JPII staff and parents, followed by a 10am shotgun start. The energy was upbeat from start to finish. Among those hitting the links were faculty members Brent Heathcott, Alan Lewis, and Daniel Kenny, as well as our new president, David Lima. While their scores might not earn them a tour card anytime soon, they had a fantastic time representing the school. Special thanks to Courtney Borgan, Susan Quinty and Jill Heathcott with helping manage the chaotic 35 minutes of rushed registration! Their warm greetings help welcome our players and get the day off too a timely start.

We owe special thanks to Mr. John Cooney, one of JPII’s most faithful supporters. As a Spring Island resident, Mr. Cooney has been instrumental in leading efforts that have brought over $1 million in donations from the Spring Island community over the years. His sponsorship of the tournament once again made it possible for us to host the event at Old Tabby.

The tournament raised over $30,000 this year for the Warrior Fund, helping us continue our mission of providing exceptional education grounded in faith, academics, and community.
