Golden Warriors Shine at Wildcat Classic Invitational

Your Golden Warriors track & field team competed Saturday at West Ashley High School in the Wildcat Classic Invitational, marking their first invitational meet of the season. With 25 teams in attendance, the boys team delivered a strong performance, finishing 11th overall and earning the distinction of being the highest-placing SCISA/private school at the event.

Top Performances – Boys' Team
The Warriors racked up 31.5 points, with Sebastian Frickel and Lukas Yackley leading the charge, combining for 24 points on the day.

  • Sebastian Frickel had a stellar meet, claiming 2nd place in the 1600m with a new school record time of 4:30.07 and securing 3rd place in the 800m. His efforts earned him the team’s only medal of the day.
  • Lukas Yackley showcased his dominance in the throws, placing 4th in both Shot Put and Discus while setting personal bests and breaking his own school records in both events.
  • Dante Aiken soared to a 4th-place finish in the Triple Jump, setting a new school record with a personal best mark.
  • Connor Brown and Andrew Boyden rounded out the scoring, placing 7th and 8th in the Javelin, respectively. Brown also threw a personal best to set a new school record in the event.

Top Performances – Girls' Team
Though the Lady Warriors did not score points in this meet, several athletes achieved personal bests and school records:

  • Savannah Washington clocked new personal bests in the 100m and 200m, setting a new school record in the 200m.
  • Abby Brock posted personal bests in the 800m and 1600m, breaking the school record in the 1600m.
  • The 4x100m relay team (Camryn Michael, Savannah Washington, Mila Baroni, Lili Lutheran) and the 4x400m relay team (Mila Baroni, Camryn Michael, Lili Lutheran, Annabella Stankovich) both hit State Qualifying Marks.

The Warriors return to the track on Wednesday, March 5, at Hilton Head Island High School, where many of our middle school athletes will compete.
