The Golden Warriors closed out 2025 and opened the new year with relentless energy, toughness, and momentum across the hardwood and the mat. From commanding basketball wins on the road and championship tournament runs to hard-earned podium finishes in wrestling, JPII athletes showcased grit, growth, and competitive fire at every level. Whether pulling away late in tight contests, locking down defensively, or battling through brackets, our Warriors continue to represent JPII with pride. Here’s a look at the action from December 16 through January 11.


December 16

Basketball vs. Bluffton
VG Basketball earned a 45–25 victory
VB Basketball fell just short in a 58–56 battle


December 18

Basketball at Hilton Head Prep
MSG Basketball won 17–6
MSB Basketball won 24–9
JVB Basketball earned a 37–17 win
VG Basketball cruised to a decisive 63–30 victory
VB Basketball pulled away late for a 71–52 win


December 19

Basketball at May River
JVG Basketball earned a dominant 35–9 road win
JVB Basketball secured a hard-fought 47–42 victory


December 20

Reverence Open Youth & Middle School Wrestling Tournament
Runner-up: Jack Duncan, Will Duncan
3rd Place: Ben D’Orazio


December 27

Bluffton JV & Middle School Wrestling Tournament

JV Division:
Champion: Brody Farris (3–0, 3 pins)
Runner-up: Isaac Borgan (1–1, 1 pin)
3rd Place: Taylor Murphy (1–2, 1 pin)
JP Parker earned his first career win

Middle School Division:
Runner-up: Jack Duncan (3–1, 1 pin, 2 technical falls)

December 29

Basketball – Colleton Prep Holiday Tournament
VB Basketball opened tournament play with a convincing 58–40 win over Colleton Prep

December 30

Basketball – Colleton Prep Holiday Tournament
VB Basketball headed to the championship by dominating with a 77–41 victory over the Raiders
VG Basketball punched its ticket to the championship with a commanding 58–14 win over Colleton Prep


December 31

Basketball – Colleton Prep Holiday Tournament Champions
VB Basketball defeated Savannah Country Day 70–55 to capture the 10-team IP Builders Holiday Tournament title, Daniel Godsun took home Tournament MVP and Sean Phalen and Logan Cotter were named to the All-Tournament team.

VG Basketball claimed the championship with a 55–27 win over Dorchester Academy, Lauren Majorkiewicz was named Tournament MVP and was joined by Ellie Heathcott and Lily Termini on the All-Tournament team.


January 3–4

Wrestling – HS Gold | Prep Slam Tournament
Golden Warriors won both team duals over Pinewood Prep and Porter-Gaud
Team dual record improved to 9–6


January 7

Basketball at St. Andrew’s
JVG Basketball fell 47–31 (now 4–2 on the season)
JVB Basketball dropped a 62–39 contest
VG Basketball battled but fell 59–46


January 8

3rd Place: Harrison Millard (1–1)
