Catholic Schools Week 2026 at JPII - A Joyful Celebration of Faith, Community, and Mission

Last week, John Paul II Catholic School joyfully celebrated Catholic Schools Week 2026—a week that once again reminded our community that JPII is far more than a campus or a daily schedule. "Our school is a living, faith-filled community rooted in shared purpose and centered on the formation of young minds and hearts," said JPII Principal Heather Rembold.

Throughout the week, students encountered truth, beauty, and goodness in both big moments and simple joys. Catholic Schools Week served as a powerful reminder that the mission of Catholic education continues each day because of devoted teachers, coaches, and staff who answer God’s call with consistency, creativity, and courage. Their presence at JPII is not accidental—it is providential—and their witness allows students to feel known, challenged, inspired, and deeply loved.

The celebration began on Monday, as students enjoyed card games placed on lunch tables, encouraging fellowship, laughter, and screen-free connection during the school day. The day also marked Babies Day, focusing on the beauty of life and God’s gift of natural conception.

On Tuesday, JPII embraced Elder Day, reflecting on the dignity of life from beginning to natural death. The day also welcomed guests for Prospective Student Visit Day, offering visiting families a glimpse into the vibrant, faith-centered life of our school community.

Wednesday’s Patriot Day invited students to celebrate our nation with gratitude, recognizing the freedoms we enjoy and the responsibility we share to serve the common good with faith and integrity.

The spirit of vocation and prayer took center stage on Thursday with Vocation Day, reminding students that each person is uniquely called by God. The Loyal Cup coffee "cart" added a special treat for faculty and staff, while the entire school community came together in prayer through a beautiful Living Rosary, uniting hearts in faith.

The week concluded on a high note on Friday with Dress as a Saint Day, as students joyfully honored the saints who model lives of holiness, courage, and service. The celebration culminated with the highly anticipated Willie Spears Experience, energizing and inspiring students with a message of purpose, character, and hope.

"Catholic Schools Week 2026 was a joyful testimony to the mission of John Paul II Catholic School—where faith and learning walk hand in hand, and where the impact of Catholic education is felt in ways both seen and unseen," said Mrs. Rembold. "We are deeply grateful for the families, faculty, staff, and students who make JPII a place of faith, joy, and transformation each and every day."
